From Petersburg south, the route enters the Seneca Rocks National Recre-ation Area. At the majestic Seneca Rocks, you’ll begin to climb mountain roads, then turn north through the South Fork Valley. Follow the river to Moorefield then onto Old Route 55, a less traveled, scenic ride. Beyond Wardensville, head west on US RT 50, a national coast to coast road twist-ing and bending its way across WV, mostly as a two-lane trek. Turning south, you will finish the route traveling along a winding, rolling country road.
